Want the perfect Fortnite Setup?

Fortnite, one of the hottest games out at the moment. Known mainly for the Battle Royal feature which by the way, it’s FREE! when you first jump on, you may not know too much on the game, so I’m here to help you out. I’m going to help you pick the perfect Fortnite setup! First thing you should know is it’s all about the colors. The different colors represent the amounts of damage they can do. Gray(common), Green(uncommon), rare(blue), epic(purple), and Legendary(orange). Legendary being the best common being the worst.

Assault Rifles

The M16 assault rifle comes gray, green, and blue. It is a single shot firing weapon that holds 30 bullets in a clip. If, you can get your hands on a blue M16 you’re going to be packing a punch. Then you have the burst assault rifle. It comes in the same variants as the M16 which are common, uncommon, and rare. This gun holds 30 bullets in a clip and as of right now doesn’t do much more damage than the M16. It fires 3 rounds at a time and if your a constant jumper, this is not for you.

Next is the scoped rifle, this rifle is well…what it’s name states, it’s a scoped rifle. Though don’t get it twisted, it doesn’t zoom in like a sniper but it gives you a better distance that a regular rifle. It comes in the colors blue and purple and to tell you the true I think it’s underrated. This rifle has saved me plenty of times cause I hardcore suck at long distance fights and that is normally where I loss the battle. This weapon is also a single shot weapon. Better have a good trigger finger!

Last but certainly not least by any means, the Scar. The Scar comes in purple and orange. This weapon can melt people and it is totally over powered. Though the downside is that it is rare to just find one lying around and getting them in chest. Your best bet to getting one of these beauties is by going for supply drops. There is a more than likely chance you will get one in a supply drop than a chest. Just don’t get shot in the back right after you get one, it really sucks.

Submachine guns

To be fairly honest with you the submachine guns are kind of useless. No one really uses them because they do like next to no damage what so ever. Though with this being said they are the best choice for close range if you cannot find a shotgun. You have the silenced smg that comes in gray, green, and blue. This gun has a clip capacity of 35 and it is an automatic smg. Then you have the well…it’s just called the submachine gun. Coming in the same colors as the silenced smg as well as 35 bullets in a clip, on top of that it is also an automatic. These two weapons do the same damage but to me it feels like the submachine gun does better than the silenced smg…don’t ask I don’t know myself.

I’m going to stick with the theme here and save the best for last, the tactical smg. This baby is a melter and a half. Close range this thing is a beast, with a clip that holds 35 bullets and comes in rare, epic and legendary not to mention fires rapidly, it’s kind of hard to pick which one to go with…that’s a lie, I’m picking the tactical smg! but for real though 10/10 recommend using this sometimes over a shot gun. Your life will change.

Shotguns

Everyone and I mean EVERYONE loves shotguns. The best solution over all for close range combat. There is a 9/10 chance if you run up on someone they are going to have a shotgun ready to shot your face off. There are currently three shotguns out, as of the recent update. You have the pump shot gun, which does the most damage but you cannot rapid fire it, there is a short wait between shots. The pump can carry 5 bullets in a clip and comes in gray and green. Not the best colors but the damage is unbeatable. Then there is the tactical shotgun. This shotgun is used for those of you who like to rapid fire shot after shot. If, you can use this gun correctly you can do some damage. Green, blue, and purple are the colors that are provided with this shotgun. A single clip holds 8 shots which is plenty to kill an opponent…unless your me and miss a lot of shots but somehow get them with the last bullet.

There is now a brand new shotgun out and to be honest, I have only used it once. Well by “used it” I mean I picked it up and died five seconds later to a snip half-way across the map. It hurts every time I tell you. Anyway this shotgun is called the Heavy shotgun! This new shot gun is suppose to have “increased range” and can come in the colors purple and orange and is hard to get like the scar. It has the clip capacity of 7 and does the same damage as the purple tactical and a little more damage if it is legendary. Plus I will admit it does look pretty sick!

Pistols

I’m going to keep this category short and sweet and to the point because to be frank next to no one uses pistols unless it just came out or there doing a challenge. And if it’s the only weapon they see when they drop.

First you have the revolver, which comes in gray and green, and has the clip capacity of 6. It is a slow gun and takes awhile, not to long but not quick ether, to reload. It’s a powerful weapon but many choose not to take the risk. Then you also have just the “pistol” it’s comes in the colors gray, green, and blue. This gun does no were near the damage the revolver does but once again any gun is good at the start of a game. If, it can kill your better off picking it than nothing.

There are also the “newish” pistols that have come out including the sneaky silencer pistol. Does around 26-28 damage not bad but definitely not good. You can come across it in purple and orange. Though I would have to say if you really want a pistol in your setup go with the hand cannon. This sucker does 75 damage and up. It comes as purple and orange. This pistol is a beast, but I can never find it and when I do I already have the perfect setup and don’t want to drop anything.

Extras

Now you have the extras as I like to put. These are the “don’t really need them but if you can pick it up then do it” things. You have the grenade launcher, which comes in blue, purple, and orange. Now this is an alright thing to have if your a person who wants to weed people out of a place. This leads to the famous rocket launcher, which also comes in the same colors as the grenade launcher. The downside to this is there is a range limit. You cannot see someone on the other side of the map and shoot and expect it to make it that far. Moral of the story if you can find a rocket launcher get it, because you’re going to have those base campers, so you can just blow them up.

I’m going to count snipers as an extra because there used like the rocket launchers. You pick them up for long distance fights. If your not good at long range fights don’t pick up a sniper because your going to shoot at an enemy once and they lock on to you and will not stop shooting till your dead. The semi-auto sniper comes in purple and orange. It is an alright sniper, but if I was to carry a sniper I would pick the bolt action sniper rifle. This thing Is great! though watch out for the reload time and that you have to reload after every shot. Plus the biggest downside and what makes if the hardest sniper to use for beginners is learning the bullet drop. If someone is far away aim a little above there head and if they are moving as well also aim a little in front of them at the same time. This sniper comes in blue, purple, and orange.

The grenades, boogie bombs, and impulse grenades are not to important as you get started. By all means though if your in combat and want one to chuck at the enemy to distract then so you can push up that is fine. But for the sake of helping you with you perfect setup I will give a short description on what they do. Grenades as you can assume (I hope) just explode. Boogie bombs are “grenades” you throw but they don’t explode or do damage. How ever when the boogie bomb hits its enemy or is in range of an enemy it will make them start to dance, this makes it so they can not fight back. The Impulse grenade also doesn’t do damage on impact. Impulse grenades basically pushes people back with a lot of force. Now you can do damage with this if you throw it at someone and knock them off a high place and they fall and die or take damage. Mostly though you will see people use these grenades as a way to get places faster or away from the storm. Just have to throw is at your feet and it will launch you, but keep in mind you can take damage to. There is also a new c4 out. Though, it sucks…like bad. The explosion does little damage to players and bases. You would have to throw multiple to do much of anything.

Potions and heals are a priority. Always do your best to keep at least a slot open for shield potions or some form of healing whether this is bandages or med kits. They will always help you in a time of need! Your shield potions will give you 50 shield in 5 seconds, small shield potions give you 25 shields each but only heal up to 50% shield, so you can only use two of them at a time, but the best thing about them is they take only 2 seconds to drink. You have the slurp juice. This heals you and gives you shield at the same time( gives you 25% on each) and only takes 2 seconds to drink. Then you have the sugar daddy, the mother load, the item you see and poop your pants the chug jug. This gives you 100 shield and 100 health, downside is that is takes 15 seconds to consume. Bandages give you 15 health each time (up to 75 health) and takes 4 seconds to use. Med kits take 10 seconds to use but give full health.

Picking the perfect fortnite setup

Now that you know about all the weapons and gadgets it’s time to pick the perfect fortnite setup for you. Based on the type of player you are is the setup you go for. Are you a rusher? If, you are a rusher you typically land, find the first weapon you see( majority of the time it’s a pistol or shotgun) and take off to were ever you saw someone else land. As you kill people you pick up what ever they dropped and keep going with light looting every now an then. Are you a camper? Typically, these players will land and loot as many places as you can, get a few weapons ( majority of the time is a shotgun, some sort of assault rifle, and a sniper). These players go for the strategy of run to the edge of the circle, build a big base, and camp till the next circle forms and keep going till the end of the game, because if a player sees a base (mainly a rush player) they are going to go after it and that camper is going to sit there with a shotgun ready to shoot your face off. Are you a passive player? Passive players typically go for the small buildings away from everyone cause they are unmarked and the majority of the time there will be not fighting till later on, unless someone else has the same play style as you and had the same idea. The passive players, unless they get lucky, normally have a setup of gray or green guns typically an assault rifle and a shotgun. If they are lucky they will find potions and heals. Are you a runner? runners just well, run. They drop, get there Assault rifle, shield potions, bandages, and shotgun and keep running. There goal is to stay alive till the end of the game and win will 1-2 kills.

DISCAIMER!

This will not help everyone. This is geared to the new players to the game that don’t know a lot about the weapons. This article doesn’t go in to super detail about how to play. This article is by next to no means telling you that you have to use these setups, these are just the setups I have used and observed. This is not a 100% guarantee going to help everyone. You may find you like to use a burst more than semi-auto assault rifle. You may want to use a pistol every game. You also may want to use a rusher’s setup while your a runner. So you can get kills but also aren’t to pushy. Please keep this in mind as every player plays the game they get used to the guns and there setup will evolve in there own way that fits them.
