Black Ops 4 is set to come out in fall of 2018. To be more specific October 12th. Bo4 is a game that is going to change Call of Duty forever as we know it. Activision (creator’s of the Black Ops series) have stepped it up a notch and in a way for some people lowered it as well. The Bo4 reveal event, which was May 17th, shed a whole lot of light on the subject. I’m here to, in a way, shorten down what we know of Bo4 so far from the reveal. So sit back and grab some popcorn folks!
There were a lot of rumors going around sense we COD fans got our hands on some leaked Intel way before the reveal of the game. These rumors included what the campaign was going to be like. Little while later news leaked that their would be no campaign at all. This came as a shocker to a lot of people, but Let’s be honest, no one really cared. The community was more focused on what Activision had up their sleeve to replace such a big space in the game.
It is pretty much out their that no one really played the campaign. The community has switched drastically from campaign to multiplayer in a few short years. With more than half of the COD community sticking with multiplayer and not campaign, activision saw that it was a waste of time if no one played it.
On May 17th Activision announced their would indeed be NO campaign in Call of Duty Black Ops 4.
Though their were some leaks, no one really knew about anything to do with multiplayer until the trailer reveal.
During the reveal live stream the trailer for Call of Duty Bo4 was shown and people had mixed reactions. Number one was how similar Bo4 looked to Bo3. Yes, they were made by the same company, but many people didn’t see a reason as to why they would want to play a game that looks like the sister to a 3-year-old game that people are still playing to this day because the resent Cod’s have been trash. Then again some people thought “hey Bo3 was the best Cod by far, so why fix something that isn’t broken?”. I for one am with those people. Black Ops 3 was by far one of the best Call of Duty’s yet (my opinion). It was colorful, it had great flowing maps, and cool customization. These aspects will flow into Bo4 and i’m not mad.
Number 2 reason for mixed opinion. Health regeneration is not automatic anymore. Activision has made it to where you have to inject yourself with health. They believed this would add a new sense of strategy to the game and help rushers be rushers and campers be campers. So if your health is low you can back out of a situation inject yourself and get back into the fight or push with low health, they are giving you a decision on how to play. Though, you cannot rapidly give yourself health. There is a recharge time of at least 5 seconds or so before the injection can be used again. It resets at death. People believe this will be hurting the time to kill in the game.
This leads me to the third reason. More health in general. Every player from the past Call of Duty’s had only 100 Hp, now the health bar is raised to 150 Hp. The time to kill is not fast nor is it slow. It has an in between feel.
4th reason is old content? Bo4 is bringing back specialist. Some old and some new. Some of the old specialist form Bo3 have changed genders and abilities as well. As of May 31 their are only 8 specialist available, though their will probably be more added in the future. Abilities like pulse and weapons like flamethrower are making a return and plenty more.
Though, the number one thing that people are excited about in this new game is it’s 100% confirmed boots on the ground. Though their is a “boost” slide. When running you can press your crouch button and basically slide as you would in Bo3.
Activision has put their effort, that would have went into campaign, and made a battle royale. The mode will be in the full game and as of May 31 their is not details on if it will be an option to be sold separate from multiplayer. Blackout is the name of the Battle Royale coming to Cod.
So far we know it is a big map comprised of your favorite Cod maps in one. You can play as past call of duty characters, as well as zombies characters. There will also be land, air and sea vehicles that can be used. There is no game play yet but everyone is still hyped! This is the first time something like this is coming to a Call of Duty and the community is ready. Though it is also a make or break decision as well. If this mode is not dang near perfect on release day people will not be happy and Activision can suffer from that.
I would also like to point out their will also be a Closed Beta for the game.
So what do you guys think? Is Bo4 going to flop or not? Will Blackout be successful? Do you like Bo3? Did you want boots on the ground or for boosting to come back?
My opinion is I am excited for Bo4. I was in love with the way it felt to play Bo3 and the weapons it had. Though, I personally would like boosting to come back in some way. I can do both boots on the ground and boosting but boosting would have to be a favorite!
